JPG to WEBP converter
한국어Pick a jpg image and convert it to webp. The file does not go to a server and the work finishes on this device.
You can pick several at once. Choose the size, format, and quality below, and they're processed and downloaded.
Drag files here, or paste a copied image.
Why convert
At a similar quality, webp is often smaller than jpg, so people convert jpg to webp when they want lighter pictures for a web page.
What happens to the picture
jpg is already a reduced format, so saving as webp again can lower the quality a little. Some older programs cannot open webp, so check where you will use it first.
Questions
Is my picture uploaded?
No. The jpg file you pick does not leave your browser, and the conversion finishes on this device.
Are there browsers that cannot save webp?
There can be. In that case this tool tells you which format was actually made and names the file to match.
Are there files that will not open or take long?
If your browser cannot read the jpg file, it will not open. Very large pictures take time, and the size limit depends on your browser and device memory.
