Remove EXIF and location data from a photo

Choose a photo and we tell you first if it carries location data. Saving gives you a new file without it.

You can pick several at once. Choose the size, format, and quality below, and they're processed and downloaded.

Drag files here, or paste a copied image.

What gets removed

A phone photo can carry where it was taken (GPS), the device name, and the date.

That data is called EXIF. Share the photo and others may be able to see the location.

This tool redraws the photo and saves it fresh, so the new file carries none of it.

See what is inside first

For JPG photos we read, on your device, whether location data is present.

PNG and WebP cannot be read here, so we say it was not checked. Either way the new file carries none of it.

Good to know

What you can see in the photo, like signs and scenery, stays. To hide those, use the cover tool.

The photo is saved again even if you keep its size and format, so the file size may change.

Where does my photo go

Nowhere. Reading and removing both happen inside this browser.
